Sometimes I wonder if it is okay to do an upcycling of historical devices.
Some of these would fit well into museums - as beautiful as they are worked. Craftsmen and mechanics have worked wood and metal for hours and hours. And all this in handwork!
On the other hand, however, they have been in former times consumer goods such as a toaster and a smartphone today. If these are outdated or broken they are thrown away to the garbage or recycled to their raw materials.
For me upcycling is a way to respect the work of this old craftsmen and mechanics. These beautiful vintage devices get a second live - not just as a device but even as an artwork which is admired.
What will happen to the upcycled devices in another 50 to 100 years?
