Retrofuturistic Assemblage
30 cm
This is my latest
artwork „Die Geweihte“ - „The Antlered One“.
I‘ve always wanted to work with an original animal skull. The roebuck skull was quickly illuminated with flickering bulbs and LEDs and the horns were gilded with metal leaf.
But I was missing the
right body for my assemblage. When my artist friend
Heiko Palach gave me the 80-year-old battered
doll‘s body, I let my creativity flow.
In one week, all the
parts magically came together. I was in the flow and I fell completely in love with my creation.
An ancient-looking cloth doll of a woman, crowned with a gilded antler. Her fiery eyes glow with hidden power, as if she carries the spirit of old rituals and silent gods.

Additional information
The doll is a dangling doll that was produced in the 1940s during the Second World War. Existing old legs and arms were joined to a makeshift sewn fabric body.
